Belleek Pottery was established in 1857, this era was the ‘heyday of natural history’. Victorians were fascinated by the natural world and established Entomology as an important discipline. Bug collecting and classification became a popular activity and it was common place to proudly display insects such as butterflies and beetles. Hand crafted in Ireland, the Curio Mugs have been inspired by this ‘curious’ pastime and are a celebration of Belleek Pottery’s Victorian past.
